The tool may have selected the wrong rows, combined currencies or treated a blank as zero. Before asking for a large analysis, build a small example whose expected result you can calculate yourself. That gives you a way to inspect the method as well as the final number.

Describe the columns first
Use a fictional table with twelve orders. Give each row an order identifier, date, currency, amount and status. Add one duplicate identifier, one blank amount and one cancelled order. These are deliberate test cases, not accidental mess. Write down what each column means and which values should be included in the summary.

For example, you might want completed orders only, grouped by currency, with duplicate identifiers flagged for review. The blank amount should stay missing rather than becoming a zero-value sale. Those choices define the analysis more than the wording of the question does.

Calculate a small answer manually
Choose three straightforward rows and total them yourself. Then add the cancelled row and confirm that it is excluded. Keep the two currencies separate. You now have a short set of expected results that can reveal a filtering mistake before it spreads across a larger dataset.

Record the expected row count as well as the total. Two errors can sometimes cancel each other numerically. A matching total with the wrong number of included rows is a reason to investigate, not a successful check.

Ask for the method with the result
Give the assistant the data dictionary and inclusion rules. Request the grouped totals, included row identifiers and a separate list of records that need review. Ask it to explain how duplicates and missing amounts were handled. Do not invite it to “clean everything up” without specifying what cleaning means.

If the tool proposes a formula or script, inspect it with the tiny example before applying it to your working file. Keep the original data unchanged so you can compare the result and reverse an unsuitable transformation.

Review exceptions before charts
A chart can make an analysis feel finished. Review the exception list first. Was the duplicate flagged? Did the cancelled order stay excluded? Did the missing amount remain unresolved? Only then inspect whether the chart labels, units and title describe the calculation that actually happened.

Watch for a title such as “Monthly revenue” when the table contains only a sample of completed orders. That title makes a broader claim than the data supports. Rename it to describe the actual scope rather than accepting the more impressive wording.

Scale the checked method carefully
Once the small example works, try a larger sample containing the same kinds of exceptions. Compare totals with an independent calculation in your spreadsheet or another trusted method. A successful twelve-row test does not establish that every future file will have the same structure.

Save the data dictionary, inclusion rules, example rows and expected results together. When a new column or currency appears, update the test before reusing the workflow. The objective is not to obtain a confident explanation of your data. It is to produce an analysis whose rows, assumptions and calculations you can account for.

Keep the inputs and review notes together in the structured output studio workspace, then save a backup you can reopen.

[26

post-97","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-tables-spreadsheets
["GET
